Bascom Library and Community Center

San Jose, California
This $21 million, two story project included electrical, fire alarm, security and communication design and construction support for the community center and library. The HVAC system is air cooled chiller plant with custom VAV air handling units. The electrical design incorporates high efficiency transformers with energy efficient lighting and day-light controls. The plumbing system incorporates low flow fixtures and recycled water to achieve 48% water savings. The building has been designed to meet the criteria of LEED Silver and has been registered and submitted to USGBC (United States Green Building Council) for the silver level certification. The project design is 21% better then California Title 24 and both the Owner and the design are eligible for energy rebate incentives.
