CB Engineers performed work on two projects at the California Institute for Women in Corona, California.
The first project consisted of a new 45 Bed combination of Acute Care Facility Intermediate Care Facility Housing and Treatment Areas, covering 32,000 square feet and Administration Area covering 6,000 square feet. Although this facility does not require operating under health services license this building was designed to California’s OSHPD (Office Statewide Health Planning Development) requirements for future licensing consideration. The project is being designed as a LEED Silver, Occupancy I-1.1/I-3 and B. The project is attempting to become one of the first correctional facilities to become LEED Silver in this Department.
The second project consisted of a new 20 Bed Psychiatric Services Unit, covering 3,600 square feet of Housing Wing Area. The project is being designed as a LEED Silver, Occupancy I-3 Cond. 5. The project is attempting to become one of the first correctional facilities to become LEED Silver in this Department.
