CB Engineers performed work on two projects at Salinas Valley State Prison.
The first project consisted of a new 64 Bed combination of Intermediate Care Facility / Mental Health Facility Housing and Treatment Areas, covering 32,000 square feet and Administration covering 6,000 square feet. Although this facility does not require operating under health services license this building was designed to California’s OSHPD (Office Statewide Health Planning Development) requirements for future licensing consideration. The project is being designed as a LEED Silver, Occupancy I-1.1/I-3 and B. The project is attempting to become one of the first correctional facilities to become LEED Silver in this Department.
The project consisted of Addition to the existing Mental Health Services Building, covering 16,000 square feet of Treatment Services Area and covering 8,000 square feet of Administration Area. The project is being designed as a LEED Silver including the use of Photovoltaic Technology, Occupancy I-3 Cond. 5 and B. The project is attempting to become one of the first correctional facilities to become LEED Silver in this Department.
