FY08 Rail Upgrade

CB Engineers provided electrical and mechanical engineering services for design of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems required for new three-locomotive bay maintenance facility to replace existing building, including site utilities.
This $14.6 million LEED Silver Corps of Engineers project consisted of engineering design, specifications, design analysis and cost estimates for the FY08 Rail Upgrade project at Ft. Lewis, WA. More specifically, the project consisted of constructing a 6,000 sq. ft. maintenance facility for three 120-ton locomotives and three new interchange tracks for 60 inbound rail cars. Also included was an upgrade of three existing interchange tracks for 60 outbound rail cars and upgrade of the main track and support track from the interchange yard to the maintenance facility.
