The Grand Avenue Project is a 2 billion dollar project, which is to be built on Grand Avenue next to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, it is designed to give Los Angeles a thriving city center. It has been compared to, and is intended to be the L.A. version of the Champs-Élysées of Paris and the Central Park of New York City. The project is designed by world renowned architect Frank Gehry and includes two new towers of luxury residential condominiums and rental residences with 400 market-rate units and 100 affordable apartments, a 275-room hotel and a 1,500-car parking structure. There will be 300,000 sq. ft. of upscale shopping stores, a bookstore, and a multiplex movie theater and a gourmet supermarket.
