Intercontinental Hotel

The Intercontinental Hotel is a new 34-story structure which opened in February 2008. The hotel contains the main lobby, restaurants, kitchens, offices, main ballrooms, meeting rooms, offices, laundry facilities and 550-guest rooms.

The building has a central chilled water plant at the rooftop penthouse with chillers, boilers and distribution pumps. Air-handling units are located throughout the first six floors to serve the spaces with all the guest rooms conditioned by in-room fancoil units with direct outside air connections and chilled and heating hot water piping.

CB Engineers has performed detailed commissioning work on this building and provided recommendations for improving building energy efficiency. We are currently working with the Owner and contractors to implement various recommendations from the commissioning process.
