Along with our continued growth, we are currently seeking a performance driven Project Manager capable to join our dynamically growing organization.

The Project Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. This position will have responsibility for client interface, financial performance (including cash flow and forecasting), leading teams of talented engineers, and mentoring younger engineers. This job is performed in both an office and field environment. Some travel may be required with about 20% of work to be executed outside the office in the field. Must have a Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with the Principal-in-charge to establish the parameters of the budget targets for all involved disciplines (MEP) and for establishing a matrix (breaking down the subtotal target budgets for each discipline and the percentage breakdown for all activities)
  • Responsible for providing the project team with the scope of work based on the proposal
  • Initiate job request form with Accounting Department to establish a project number, ensuring continuity in budget target breakdown for all associated team members
  • Secure client (billing) information
  • Coordinate with IT to set up a public file folder aligning with the manual project folders
  • Work with Principal-in-charge to determine the assignment of project team members and responsible for notifying team members
  • Supervise/lead the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination with other disciplines
  • Receive and send all correspondence and all drawings. Disseminate them as required to the projects team of Engineers and Designers
  • Act as main point of client contact on given project and is responsible for client relationship
  • Responsible for knowing who the “total project” players/members are (with administrative information such as mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, etc.), including owner, architect team, General Contractor and its subcontractors, participating utilities, and local governances associated with the work
  • Responsible for project scheduling, monitoring, status reporting and for the profitability of the project
  • Monitor project budget and monthly billing
  • Accountable for change order submittals (as required)
  • Attend all coordination meetings and passes on the information to the project team discipline specific Project Manager
  • Responsible for project close-out
  • Resolve variety of complex problems (i.e. conflicting design requirements, suitability of materials and equipment, construction costs vs. project budget)
  • Requirements:

    The ideal candidate must be a Licensed Professional Engineer with Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college. A minimum of 10 years in engineering design is required preferably in a consulting engineering firm or in the design department of a design build contracting firm. This job is performed in both an office and field environment. Some travel may be required with about 20% of work to be executed outside the office in the field. Must have a Valid Driver's License.

    The successful candidate must have the following skills, knowledge, experience and abilities:

    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and possess strong leadership ability
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • High level of organization
    • Ability to work with both building owners/managers and trade contractors is required
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Possess high level of analytical ability used to solve complex problems
    • Ability to work effectively with the firm’s personnel
    • Conversant with the firm’s Management philosophy and organizational structure as appropriate
    • Ability to be sufficiently flexible and resourceful to cope with the inherent load fluctuations of the profession
    • Provide assistance, as needed or directed, to deliver a quality product on schedule
    • Ability to travel
